A Visit with my Mentor

In May this year (2025) thanks to a funding grant from Creative Scotland I was able to travel down to Wales for a week to visit my mentor for Natural Inks, Jacqui Symons, Slow Lane Studios.

It was a lovely week with glorious weather, I learned loads in a tranquil setting where I was induced into the  relaxed, “slow” way of life from Jacqui - which lasted for at least the week. We went foraging for Hawthorn petals and bark to make lake pigments and I persuaded Jacqui to be the star in a stone skimming video on a local lake - thank you Creative Scotland.
