These projects have developed as Jean’s work expanded from the visual to include poetry and sound. Exploring poetics through sound and silence has reshaped how she conveys feeling, first realised for a solo exhibition in Kyoto and since continued as an ongoing thread. The landscape is marked by processes, materials, and energies we rarely notice; what is overlooked becomes fertile ground for imagination and for reflecting on our impact on nature. Collecting materials and ephemera from sites, and experimenting with their transformation, has opened new ways of engaging with a project.
